Bio

Carmen Tercilla

For more than ten years, I have been working with students, assisting them in the college selection, application and transition process. During this time, I have developed a full-time practice of educational consulting, transitioning out of a long career in sales and marketing in the healthcare industry.

I know full well the importance of a strong college background, graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor in Economics. I later earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Miami, receiving an award for academic excellence for being in the top 10% of my MBA Class. I’ve also learned the ins and outs of the educational consulting industry. I attended the IECA 2011 Summer Training Institute at Swarthmore College and attained the Certificate in College Counseling through the University of California in San Diego.

Further, as an active member of IECA, I was invited to join the Learning Differences Committee, chairing this committee from 2015 to 2016 and instituting innovative programs for the professional development of our members. In 2016, I joined the Board of Directors of IECA. The organization’s mission is to promote the highest quality independent educational consulting to students and families seeking skilled, ethical, academic or therapeutic guidance. I am responsible for enhancing professional development and fostering career satisfaction among our members. This year I was invited to work in the Board of Directors of the IECA Foundation. I’ve also received a Certificate for Training on Coaching Children with ADHD. I’m a member of LDA, CHADD, and I’m active in various other causes throughout my community.
